The concept of ‘deadstock’ is nothing new, but finding a store that only stocks deadstock Red Wing boots is something that we actually haven’t encountered until a recent trip to Tokyo. While shopping some vintage stores we came across Made in the World and its impressive offering of old new Red Wing goodness. Everything from brown leather oxfords from the 1950s to a huge selection of 101 “Postmans” in black and brown — all brand new and super old. You’d be hard pressed to find this many deadstock Red Wings in anyone place, anywhere in the world. The good news is, they are all for sale. The bad news? They aren’t going to come cheap — some pairs were priced safely in the $1000 range. Thankfully, we’re still making many of these identical boots to this day, the same way they did way back then.
