The 8-inch round toe is a Red Wing classic and a perennial favorite with boot lovers the world over. This month we released a special edition 8-inch round toe that’s exclusively available at select Nordstrom locations throughout the U.S. Sailing under the style number #4563, these boots feature a special leather — called Beige Hillbilly — which is made right in Red Wing, Minn. at our own S.B. Foot tannery.

Hillbilly is waxed, nu-buck leather with pull up and a semi-distressed appearance. There are no finishing pigments used with Hillbilly which means nature’s beauty marks like scars, scratches, and fat wrinkles remain visible.

The #4563 was modeled after the styles that have made Red Wing famous for more than a century. The signature Traction Tred sole was originally used on the 1st Irish Setter boot made in the early 1950s (#877). Farmers and upland game hunters loved the self-cleaning sole because it would keep the mud off their boots as they worked.
